Effects of this medicine
・This medicine selectively acts on progesterone receptors to inhibit ovarian function and the growth of endometrial cells, and it consequently improves the symptoms associated with endometriosis and the pain associated with adenomyosis.
・It is usually used in the treatment of endometriosis and to improve pain associated with adenomyosis.
Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)
・In general, for adults, start to take 1 tablet (1 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, twice daily, between the second and fifth day of the menstrual cycle. Strictly follow the instruction.
・If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible when you remember that you missed a dose. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
・If you have: undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding, swelling of uterus, anemia, uterine leiomyoma.
・If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Precautions while taking this medicine
・Avoid pregnancy by means other than taking hormonal agents (oral contraceptive or birth-control pills).
・The medicine may cause irregular vaginal bleeding and serious anemia in some cases. ・The severity of bleeding varies between individuals, and it may persist during the therapy or cause a large amount at one time. Consult with your doctor if the bleeding is substantial and persisting, or too much at once.
