Alogliptin benzoatePioglitazone hydrochloride

Effects of This Medicine +
・This medicine improves blood glucose control by stimulating insulin secretion and enhancing the action of insulin when blood glucose level is elevated.・It is usually used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Dosing Schedule (How to Take) +
・In general, for adults, take 1 tablet at a time, once a day, before or after breakfast. Strictly follow the instructions.・If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible if prior to noon. If you miss a dose and remember it in the afternoon, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
Before Using This Medicine +
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.・If you have a heart disease or a history of heart disease, ketosis, diabetic coma or precoma, type 1 diabetes mellitus, hepatic disorder, renal disorder or severe infection; are in a pre- or post-operative state; have an injury, pituitary abnormality, adrenal disorder, inadequate food intake or debility; are doing strenuous physical exercise or a heavy drinker; have undergone a laparotomy or experienced bowel obstruction; have a bladder cancer/a history of bladder cancer or diabetic retinopathy.
・If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Precautions While Taking +
・Strictly follow the instructions on dietary/exercise therapy.・If you experience edema (swelling), rapid weight gain, or cardiac failure symptoms (breathing difficulty, shortness of breath, easily tired, etc.), discontinue using this medicine and tell your doctor.
・If hypoglycemia symptoms (hunger, cold sweat, grow pale, easily tired, trembling limbs, convulsion, decreased consciousness) occur, in general, take carbohydrate-containing foods or sugar.
・If you are taking this medicine concomitantly with an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor (medicines which delay absorption of sugar such as acarbose, voglibose, and miglitol), ingest glucose.
・Acute pancreatitis (initial symptoms include persistent severe abdominal pain and vomiting) may occur. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor immediately.
・Pay extra attention that hypoglycemia while working at heights or driving a car may induce an accident.
・Periodic electrocardiogram examinations will be performed.
・It is necessary to measure blood and urine glucose level periodically. Take the tests following the instructions of your doctor.
・Periodic urinary and other tests will be performed. If symptoms such as bloody urine, frequent urination, or pain on urination occur, tell your doctor immediately.
・Inform your family of precautions regarding hypoglycemia.
・Make sure to tell your family and persons around you that you are taking diabetic medicine.
Storage Conditions +
・Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (1 to 30 degree Celsius), away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.・Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you do not know how to discard, consult your pharmacy or medical institution about how to discard them. Do not give this medicine to anyone else.
