Magnesium oxide

Effects of This Medicine +
・This medicine neutralizes gastric acid by antacid effect in the stomach. It also suppresses water reabsorption in the gut, expands intestinal contents, and gives mechanical stimulation to the intestine, consequently promoting defecation.
・It is usually used for antacid and improvement of the symptoms in gastric/duodenal ulcer, gastritis, upper gastrointestinal dysfunction. It is also used to treat constipation and to prevent calcium oxalate urolithiasis development.
Dosing Schedule (How to Take) +
・Antacid effect: In general, for adults, take 2 to 4 tablets (0.5 to 1.0 g of the active ingredient) in several divided doses a day.
・Laxative effect: In general, for adults, take 8 tablets (2 g) in 3 divided doses a day before or after meals, or once before bedtime.
・Prevention of calcium oxalate urolithiasis development: In general, for adults, take 0.2 to 0.6 g of the active ingredient a day with plenty of water.
・In any case, the dosage may be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. This preparation contains 0.25 g of the active ingredient in a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions.
・If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. ・You should never take two doses at one time.
