Effects of this medicine
・This medicine stimulates dopamine receptors in the brain and improves symptoms of Parkinson's disease (tremor [shaking of the hands], muscle rigidity [muscle stiffness], slow movement, and difficulty in maintaining posture).
・It is usually used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)
・In general, for adults, start treatment by applying an initial dose of 4.5 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once daily, on any normal skin of a shoulder, upper arm, abdomen, flank, hip, or thigh and increase the daily dose by 4.5 mg each week while monitoring symptoms. Then apply a maintenance dose (standard daily dose of 9 to 36 mg) and replace the patches with new patches every 24 hours. The dosage may be adjusted according to age or symptoms, but should not exceed a daily dose of 36 mg.
・This preparation contains 18 mg of the active ingredient in each patch. Strictly follow the instructions.
・Before applying the patches, cleanse the application site on the skin and wipe away any remaining moisture with a dry towel, etc.
・When applying the patches, press the entire patch for 20 to 30 seconds with the palm so that the patch is firmly attached to the skin.
・Do not touch the sticky side of the patch when applying, as this could cause the patch to easily fall off.
・Do not cut the patches with scissors, etc. before using.
・When replacing the patches, do not apply the new patches to the same sites as on the previous day. Do not apply to skin with a wound or eczema.
・When replacing the patches, be sure to remove the previous day's patches before applying the new patches.
・Wash your hands after applying the patches. Do not touch your eyes until you have washed your hands.
・If you miss replacing the patches, replace the patches as soon as you remember. And then, continue your regular applying schedule. You should never apply a double dose at one time.

・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
・If you have or have a history of psychiatric symptoms, such as hallucination and delusion, or heart disease.
・If you have hypotension or liver disorder.
・If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Precautions while taking this medicine

・This medicine may cause sudden onset of sleep without any warning sign or somnolence. Do not engage in dangerous activities such as driving a car, operating machinery, or working at heights.
・Uncontrollable behavioral symptoms (impulse control disorders) may appear, including repetitive gambling despite adverse social consequences such as a ruined personal life, a pathological increase in sexual desire, repeated excessive unplanned shopping, and binge eating. If any of these symptoms appear, consult with your doctor.
Storage conditions and other information
・Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Used patches should be folded in half with the sticky side inward and discarded safely.
・Discard used patches out of the reach and sight of children.
・Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Please consult with your pharmacy or medical institution, since proper disposal of the unused medicines requires attention. Do not give this medicine to anyone else.
・[To family members] The patient may experience impulse control disorders with impulsive behaviors such as repetitive gambling, a pathological increase in sexual desire, repeated excessive unplanned shopping, and binge eating. Please pay attention to the patient's language and behavior, and if any of these symptoms appear, consult with the patient's doctor.
