Pitavastatin calcium hydrate

Effects of This Medicine +
・This medicine lowers cholesterol in the blood by inhibiting cholesterol synthesis in the liver.・It is usually used to treat hypercholesterolemia or familial hypercholesterolemia.
Dosing Schedule (How to Take) +
・For hypercholesterolemia: In general, for adults, take 0.5 to 1 tablet (1 to 2 mg of pitavastatin calcium) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. If reduction in LDL-cholesterol level is insufficient, the dosage may be increased up to 2 tablets (4 mg) a day.・For familial hypercholesterolemia: In general, for adults, take 0.5 to 1 tablet (1 to 2 mg of pitavastatin calcium) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. If reduction in LDL-cholesterol level is insufficient, the dosage may be increased up to 2 tablets (4 mg) a day. In general, for children 10 years old or over, take 0.5 tablet (1 mg) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the symptoms. If reduction in LDL-cholesterol level is insufficient, the dosage may be increased up to 1 tablet (2 mg) a day.
・In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
・If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
