Effects of this medicine
・This medicine inhibits an enzyme that degrades incretin to enhance insulinotropic effect and glucagon release inhibitory effect when blood glucose level is high and thereby to improve blood glucose control.
・It is usually used to treat type II diabetes mellitus.
Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)
・In general, for adults, take one tablet (5 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. Strictly follow the instructions.
・If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. ・You should never take two doses at one time.
Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
・If you have diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma or precoma, type I diabetes mellitus or infection.
・If you are before or after undergoing a surgery.
・If you have trauma, pituitary abnormality or adrenal disease.
・If you do not take enough meals/nutrient or you are debilitating.
・If you do hard exercise or consume large amounts of alcohol.
・If you have a history of abdominal surgery or intestinal obstruction.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Precautions while taking this medicine

・Strictly follow the instructions on dietary/exercise therapy.
・This medicine may cause hypoglycemic symptoms. Pay close attention when performing dangerous operations such as working at heights or driving a car.
・If hypoglycemic symptoms occur, please take sufficient amount of sugar (sugar, glucose, sugar-containing soft-drink, etc). If you concomitantly take α-glucosidase inhibitor (a medicine that delays absorption of sugar), take glucose if you experience hypoglycemic symptoms.
